Our acrylic domes come in outer dome and inner dome options. The outer dome has an approximate 1-3/8” flat flange and then begins the dome rise. The inner dome has an approximate 1-5/8” flat flange and then begins the dome rise.

We use an acrylic sheet that has special U.V. stabilization that protects from yellowing. The acrylic sheets Solar Industries offers are white, bronze and clear. While each color has its own characteristics, they can be used in a variety of situations. White acrylic is the most widely sold skylight acrylic dome color. Whether it is early morning sunrise, mid-day full sun light, or late in the day, cloudy or hazy conditions, the white acrylic provides the most consistent lighting throughout the day due to its translucent feature. Due to the white translucent feature, it is used to illuminate bathrooms, hallways, and is the standard for commercial warehouse lighting. Bronze color acrylic is the second most sold acrylic outer dome color. The brown tint is like what you might expect with a pair of sunglasses. The bronze acrylic is transparent and allows you to see through the sheet. The brown color blends well with darker roofing materials. Finally, the clear acrylic sheet is offered as outer dome. This option should be considered carefully because it allows the most direct sunlight. The clear is most commonly used in areas where no air conditioning is used and for greenhouse rooms.
